BILL HOLT JR

CHAIRMAN

A successful global business leader with over 40 years’ experience (including over 14 years in Asia) in ICT.
Bill began his career at AT&T progressing to Regional Managing Director – Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong responsible for Business Markets across the region. Bill later joined Mercatela, an eCommerce services start-up, as the Managing Partner. He was then recruited to join REACH, the newly formed wholesale network joint venture between PCCW and Telstra, as a member of the Senior Management Team. Bill was responsible for protecting and growing the US$1 billion global revenue stream of the wholesale data business. Additionally he had responsibility for Corporate Marketing. In 2005, Bill returned to the US and most recently served as Managing Director – Asia Pacific for TEOCCO (Telco software Solutions Company) to help open new markets into Asia.
Bill serves as a Chairman and Director for a number of US and Asian based firms and his understanding of the local market is allowing Horizon greater inroads into the region.
Bill holds an MBA through Seton Hall University, New Jersey USA

PHIL SILVA

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Phil Silva

Phil has been involved in ICT and participated in the evolution of Mobile Telephony since the deregulation of the Australian Market. He has participated in the launch of Mobile services from analogue to 4G and taken that experience across to the delivery of rich media content, participating in some of Australia's first Video on Demand services, Interactive web applications and Streaming Technologies. Gaining much of his experience in management positions with Telstra, Optus, Transact, Teletech Holdings and several personal start-ups. He undertakes his commercial challenges with an entrepreneurial approach and has served as a Director and Non-Executive Director for a number of private and ASX listed companies including Skyland Petroleum Limited and Synergy Plus Limited. 

The Horizon team includes ICT professionals with extensive experience locally and internationally with global experience delivering Broadband solutions to the market.

The team participates in assisting communities and partners design and launch custom networks throughout the region

The Global Broadband industry currently stands at $620USD billion per annum. An outstanding opportunity exists for the Australian market to access this industry however is currently being held back by a lack of available ‘High Speed’ internet access.

Horizon wireless has the solution. We have recently been appointed the exclusive distributor of Tarana Wireless technology for the Pacific Region.

We offer carriers and service providers the opportunity to extend their “Last Mile” connectivity to customers through our unique wireless service that delivers super-fast broadband speeds at a fraction of the cost of traditional Fibre and Cable Broadband.

Our products and services operate over licensed and unlicensed spectrum and most importantly will deliver high speed broadband speeds of 200Mpbs and 400 Mbps over Non Line of Site (NLoS). Immune to obstructions, interference, motion, and unskilled installers with unprecedented spectral efficiency, our products will revolutionise the way Broadband is delivered in Australia and the Region.

BOB PLATT

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Bob has over 25 years’ experience in the ICT industry holding executive roles with established industry heavy-weights Telstra, AT&T, NTT, Alcatel and SITA whilst located in Australia and USA. In addition, he has significant start-up experience gained as an executive with IP-Telco start-up, ComIndico. More recently He held the role of Chief Information Officer with Wyong Shire Council with responsibility for all technology, information, processes and corporate projects within the organisation and lead several innovative digital initiatives including implementing enterprise architecture and streamlining processes, improving customer service and reducing costs. Bob has tertiary qualifications in Telecommunications Engineering, Marketing and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales.

John Gibson

Strategic Advisor - New Territories

John joins the company as our regional strategic adviser after a long and successful career in ICT. Some of his highlights include President and Managing Director – TeleTech Asia Pacific Reporting to the Chairman & CEO in Denver, Colorado, USA. Tasking over 4,000 staff with full P&L responsibility for over US$135 million in revenue. 

Prior to joining Teletech, John served as Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Operations for AT&T Asia Pacific, John was successful in substantially increasing revenue across 14 countries and US$1.2 billion in revenue. John was also a foundation member in the AT&T/BT joint venture Concert. He was also responsible for launching Worldpartners into Asia which involved signing membership with all major Telco’s in the region.  Preceding  AT&T John was NSW state manager Telstra Mobile Phones where he was responsible for managing the sales, marketing, promotion, specifications, quality, features, & distribution of the emerging mobile telephone products.

Carl Gough

Strategic Advisor - Carriers and Service Providers

Carl has spent the last 20 years in the IT & T sales & consulting world, starting his telecom career with Macquarie Corporate in 1998 and moving on to global carriers such as MCI Worldcom, Asia Global Crossing, C&W Worldwide, Telstra Global, BT and was recently responsible for the largest wireless roll out in Australia with Aruba into the Westfield shopping centres.

Carl has a passion for leaving the world better place and has a unique ability to turn ideas into reality. He is founder and CEO of two startups, including Ground2Cloud which has a partnership with RingCentral, the global leader in UCaaS and a social venture called meetmagic, which turns business meetings into funds for charities, combining business and philanthropy with a handshake.

George Boschma

Strategic Advisor - Government and Utilities

George holds tertiary qualifications in Communications Engineering, Finance, and Business Administration. George has extensive experience in engineering long-haul broadband microwave and cable systems with Siemens and Telstra, including in regional, rural and remote areas. 
His interest in joining the company was sparked by the ability of the Tarana Wireless technology to deliver flexible, super-fast wireless broadband connections in geographically challenging locations, or where traditional methods are commercially prohibitive. 
George has held several directorships, including Founding Director of Telstra Super, responsible to the Board for investment strategy, asset allocation, and fund manager appointments for a $7B portfolio. He is a Life Member of Professionals Australia.
George provides the company with equipment finance facilities for capital resource optimisation and is currently dimensioning 24/7 off-grid solar power solutions.

Richard Giuliano

Strategic Advisor - Pacific Region

Richard has joined Horizon Wireless as Strategic Advisor.  Armed with 30 years in the industry, Richard brings a wealth of Sales and Marketing experience in the telecommunications sector in Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, and South-East Asia. 

Richard has worked for a number of companies including Telstra for 15 years, where he held Senior Sales and Product Management responsibilities. 
As a seasoned individual who understands technology,  he is extremely resourceful, and comes equipped with a good set of skills to interpret customer needs. Richard has spent considerable time consulting to Pacific Carriers on their broadband and IT requirements.

He has gained a Bachelor of Business Degree with Marketing Major and Sub-Major in International Marketing.
Richard loves innovation and considers the Tarana Wireless solution to be leading edge technology that can solve difficult problems that others can’t.
He lives in Sydney, Australia … he is happily married, and has 5 children. He loves an occasional game of golf, and cooking at the weekend BBQ.
